Health and safety, paired with accountability
The name Salumis carries both meanings at once.
Salus
The Roman goddess of safety, welfare, and public health — the root of words like salutary and salute.
Themis
The Greek goddess of order, law, and institutional justice and accountability.
Merged, the name is meant to carry both meanings at once: health and safety (Salus) paired with order, accountability, and just governance (Themis).
Built on more than a decade of systems-change work

The SALUMIS methodology builds upon more than a decade of healthcare equity, organizational leadership, community research and systems-change experience, including leadership of a $332,174 federally funded, 24-month healthcare systemic-change initiative examining structural barriers affecting women in the healthcare workforce.
That initiative engaged healthcare professionals, healthcare institutions, regulators, unions, medical schools, advocacy organizations and community organizations through policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, research, roundtables and healthcare summits.
The work generated research-based equity metrics, organizational findings, policy recommendations, cross-sector networks and an emerging seven-component framework for institutional change.
